“I get a great deal of enjoyment and fulfillment out of playing within a group situation as studying these rhythms alone never offers the full complement of how it should sound. I also really enjoy the added singing element of this course and would greatly appreciate more songs. Playing & singing is an underestimated skill and one that I intend to develop further.
The amount we covered during the course was excellent and ran at just the right pace for me, enough to be pushed & stretched but not too much so I didn’t feel left behind.” Collette, London
A new course and the first in a series of intensive residential workshops focusing entirely on Cuban bata drumming. This intensive residential workshop is suitable for existing players to further their knowledge and skills under the guidance of three highly experienced tutors.
These are especially designed to work both as stand alone workshops or as part of an on-going annual series. Each workshop has its own unique content and can also cater for players who have different levels of knowledge and ability.
Daytime sessions will focus on learning new material. Evening sessions will be set aside for students to play through what they’ve learnt during the day in a setting created to give participants a chance to engage in an informal environment that is closer to a Cuban Tambor.
