OVM Workshops in 2023

OVM workshops are divided into separate categories with each being suitable for a specific level or levels of ability. Click on the headings below to read more on each level and to see what workshops are available.
WORKSHOP PARTICIPATION LEVELS
Level 1 are suitable for beginners
Level 2 are suitable for intermediate levels
Level 3 are suitable for advanced players
Mixed level are suitable for all levels except complete beginners
Level 1
Workshops suitable for complete beginners and those with a little bit of percussion playing experience.Latin Percussion Course for Beginners
Dates: 30th April, 14th May & 4th June
Cajon Workshop for Beginners
Date: 2nd July
Level 2
These workshops and modular courses are designed for players who already have some basic percussion skills including hand drumming and consider themselves to be at an intermediate level on at least one instrument.Workshop content focuses on either Cuban or Brazilian percussion and there are some that combine both.
Samba Fusion in Ireland
Dates: TBC
Roots of Cuba, Group 9
A percussion course of six modules spread over 2 years
Dates: TBC
Level 3
These workshops are only suitable for experienced players and for those who have completed an OVM level 2 course or studied at a similar level.They are mostly run annually and work as standalone workshops but as the content of study varies each year, they also work as an on-going progression for participants to continue developing their skills.
Ilu Bata #2
Dates: 13th – 16th April 2023
Mixed Levels
Workshops in this series cater for a mixture of levels (except complete beginners). The range of abilities suitable to attend vary from workshop to workshop. Many of these workshops are suitable for individual and group participation.Camp Iroko#13
